question category:

credit check

my daughter has been running up credit at her new address but has been applying for credit using our address. don't know how she's managed this as she's not on electoral roll at our address. I've phoned one company up and explained to them and another company phoned our house phone to try and contact her. I would like to know the extent of the debt. is there any way I can get a credit check on the address rather than each individual?

Re: credit check

Credit reference agency files are about individuals and how they manage their personal, and joint, commitments. A property does not have a credit reference agency file so there is nothing to check. As people can move many times their own personal file may show a history of the different addresses they have lived in. If you are approached by anyone seeking information, or payment, for debts owed by someone who does not live at your address then you can let them know that this is the case.
