Established in 2000, Churchwood or Churchwood Financial are a UK based debt help company that offer a full range of debt solutions. They different to most debt advice companies in that they have a comprehensive loan portfolio that includes re-mortgages, unsecured loans and secured loans, as well as the more traditional debt solutions that include debt management, IVA's and bankruptcy. Although one point to note is that their debt management product is a fee paying product.
To ensure that you get the right advice, we provide free access to expert charity debt advisors who provide unbiased debt advice. This helps those in serious debt to avoid advisors who charge excessive fees or feel it is reasonable to extend the period individuals are in debt beyond what is reasonable and logical.

Bankruptcy is a severe last resort if you are in serious debt and no other debt solution can save you from going bankrupt. Bankruptcy may protect you from your creditors and allows you to start fresh, but you need to think carefully about all the implications involved.

Churchwood are the company behind Crystal Debt Advisory (08448466519) or (0161 241 2080) Which cold call trying to solve your debts through an IVA etc, Do not give them any information. Not even your name when answering. They are a pest and will call you anytime day or night (really! oh yes they will ). The caller will have a very pronounced Asian accent and claim they are based in Leicester. As if !. Even if you are on the TPS and report them to Ofcom it will make no difference, In fact if you have no debts at all they still will try to sell you help with an IVA. They can be very rude and even use foul language at you if are not 'cooperative' with them as reported in many other complantaints. Avoid Churchwood and associated companies like the plaque. You have been warned.Reviewed by: David Ivan Airey

I used this company to clear my debts and started under 5 yrs ago. I found the company to be a total waste of time, rude receptionists, kept being put on hold sometimes up to 10 minutes only to be cut off. when i asked for letters to be sent out with my balances on i would never get them,Plus even after i closed my account with them they still took money from my account and didnt even tell me. Another point was after being told by one of their staff information, another member of their team suggesged that was wrong and told me something completly different. DONT USE!!!!Reviewed by: Mr J reynolds

I went into debt management last year when I was on maternity leave and struggling. I only called for a loan but was told by a gentleman that the best option for me was debt management and he had 30 years experience blah blah. Well now a year on and paying £150 per month about £300 of my debt is clear, I hear nothing from them and when I call they are so rude and nasty to me, I have written 5 complaints to them and not received one response over 5 months - Dont go with them biggest mistake of my life!!Reviewed by: Linz

I totally agree with Mr Reynolds, I was with churchwood for 5 years and they said I would be debt free, after nearly 6 years I still have quite away to go. I was asking for balances from Jan 09 and it took various letters and telephone calls until I received my letter in Oct 09 only to be told I was another 3 years away from finishing the programme. Would not recommend to anybody that really wants to be debt free, I have been going it alone for 3 months now and I have mananged to pay off some of the debts and i'm better off each month!!Reviewed by: Miss H Charlton
